I am running Build 28 (or earlier) of the LFConnector. Why can't I generate a license file from the Software Connections website?

You no longer need to generate license files to manage Serial Numbers for the LFConnector.  Any product later than Build 30 can take advantage of our new web-based Serial Number licensing, which communicates directly with the online Software Connections activation database.

If you are running Build 28 (or earlier) of the LFConnector, you must upgrade to the latest posted build of your version of the LFConnector.  The following is an overview of the steps involved to complete this upgrade:

  1. Note your configuration settings in the Configuration tab of the LFConnector using the eCopy ShareScan OP Adminstration Console.
  2. Close out the eCopy ShareScan OP Adminstration Console, and uninstall the existing version of the LFConnector.
  3. Download and install the latest LFConnector build posted on the Software Connections website.  For example, if you have Build 28 of the LFConnector v1.1.1, you need to download the latest build of the LFConnector v1.1.1 from the website.
  4. Install the new version of the LFConnector.
  5. Use the  eCopy ShareScan OP Adminstration Console to reactivate all previously activated Serial Numbers using the process detailed in the FAQ entitled What are the main steps for activating an LFConnector Serial Number?
  6. Reconfigure your saved LFConnector profiles using the Configure tab in the eCopy ShareScan OP Administration Console.

The updated Product Manual (available from the LFConnector Products page) provides more details on the installation and activation processes.
