When do I need to upgrade my LFConnector Serial Number?
|
When a Serial Number for an LFConnector is sold, it is keyed to a specific version or "release" of the connector. Over time newer versions of the LFConnector become available.
Minor releases are indicated only as a build number change. This build number can be seen on the About tab when configuring the LFConnector in the eCopy ShareScan OP Administration Console. Downloading and installing these minor releases do not require a Serial Number upgrade.
Enhancement releases are indicated by a change in the version number of the product. For example, v1.0.1 is replaced by v1.0.2, or perhaps v1.1.1 is upgraded to v1.2.1. Downloading and installing these enhancement releases always require a Serial Number upgrade for each LFConnector. Users with current maintenance can upgrade their Serial Number(s) by using the LFConnector Licensing tab in the eCopy ShareScan OP Administration Console.
NOTE: When upgrading to an enhancement release of the LFConnector, the previous version of the LFConnector must be manually removed prior to installing the enhancement release. Before uninstallation, you should make a note of your current LFConnector profiles and their configuration settings.
